If you’ve been here for a while, you might remember our Healing Balm. It was vegetable based, kinda sticky, and needed improvement. So, I’ve been experimenting for a few years between bouts of research (shout out to my Dad for being chief tester and brutal with feedback) and I am very excited to introduce you to our Bee Cream. It’s simple but intense and promotes physical healing. While we do think it’s important to reduce the use of animal products, this was a case where the goodness of beeswax, honey and propolis could not be beaten, it makes for a much smoother formula and has the benefits of being a physical barrier as well antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. I should note here that we choose smoke free bee products to use - the beeswax, honey and propolis are all organic and cruelty free 🥰🐝
Added bonus/fun fact: propolis is a byproduct of honey and is full of extra botanical properties they extract when making honey! It is antiseptic, antifungal and antibacterial!
How to use? Once you break the surface, it’s easy, scrape out a small amount (ideally with your fingernail initially, then you should be able to use the warmth of your fingers to manipulate the product), apply directly to small cuts or wounds (blisters, minor burns, bites, or scrapes) to nourish and promote healing. Also ideal as a cuticle balm or a heel balm!
If you want some more info on the ingredients (which I recommend for this one since it’s a bit of a ‘specialist’ product), scroll down! Essential info though: This product contains some essential oils (lavender and tea tree) as well as raw Manuka honey which can cause some tingling sensation when applied (particularly to open wounds), this is normal, HOWEVER, if it is uncomfortable at all, wipe clean immediately. Note: not suitable in place of medical treatment if necessary, use in conjunction with treatments provided by medical professionals. Kid Safe!
